Silver Springs Shores is a planned residential community about 9 miles southeast of Ocala. With over 24,000 residents, it is one of the largest unincorporated communities in Marion County. It is also one of our most active residential fencing markets.

The community was developed in phases starting in the 1960s. Lot sizes are relatively uniform. The most common requests are 6-foot wood or vinyl privacy, pool safety barriers, and front yard picket or aluminum fence.

Many homes here were built in the 1970s and 1980s and still have original wood fences. Those fences are at or past the end of their service life. Fence replacement is more common than new installation on the older blocks of Silver Springs Shores.

Properties closest to Silver Springs State Park often have larger lots with mature trees. Fence layout on these lots sometimes requires working around tree roots near the fence line. This affects post placement and spacing.
